New York City, N.Y. — Jeff Jacobson, corporate executive vice president and president of the Xerox Technology business, was recently elected to the board of directors of The Business Council of New York State.

“The Business Council is pleased to welcome Mr. Jacobson to our board of directors. His expertise will greatly contribute to, and help shape, The Council's mission to create economic growth, good jobs and strong communities,” said Heather C. Briccetti, Esq., president and CEO of The Business Council.

The Business Council of New York State is a statewide business organization whose membership base encompasses businesses — ranging from Fortune 500 to small business, Chambers of Commerce, non-profits, and educational institutions, and more — working to create economic growth, good jobs and strong communities across New York. It advocates for policies that will improve New York's business climate and help member companies meet their business needs.

“Like my company, Xerox, New York State has a great heritage of business innovation and leadership,” Mr. Jacobson said. “My approach with the Business Council will be to build and nurture a business climate that will help our constituents not only to succeed but to sustain that success for years to come.”

Mr. Jacobson leads the company's technology business, which provides document technology products and services to customers ranging from small businesses to multinational enterprises. He is responsible for worldwide strategy, sales channel operations, marketing, technical services and customer support, and product development, manufacturing and distribution. Mr. Jacobson joined Xerox in 2012 as the president of Global Graphic Communications Operations. In 2013, he was named chief operating officer of the Xerox Technology business.

Mr. Jacobson joined Xerox from Presstek where he served as the company's president and chief executive officer, adding the title of chairman in 2009. Prior to Presstek, Mr. Jacobson was chief operating officer of Eastman Kodak Company's $3.6 billion Graphic Communications Group. He also served for five years as CEO of Kodak Polychrome Graphics, a $1.7 billion joint venture between Sun Chemical and Eastman Kodak.

Mr. Jacobson is a graduate of the State University of New York Buffalo, and holds a master's degree in industrial relations from the Cornell School of Industrial Relations. He also holds a juris doctor degree from Pace University School of Law and is admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey.
