Noted author and economic development professional to speak at Second Annual "Future Forward Series"

The Center for Economic Growth and The Business Council of New York State, Inc. will present "Creative Regional Economies: An Action Agenda," the second in the Future Forward Speaker Series on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. The event is underwritten by GE Power Systems and will be held at its Schenectady location.

The Future Forward Series brings speakers to the Capital Region who present thought-provoking ideas, enlightening concepts and innovative methods to gain regional momentum.

This year's event will feature Dr. Richard Florida, author of The Rise of the Creative Class: And How It's Transforming Work, Leisure Community and Everyday Life and professor of economic development at Carnegie Mellon University. He will offer an agenda through which the Region can capitalize on its creative strengths, leveraging them as a key force in economic development efforts.
