ALBANY—The Business Council of New York State, Inc. is pleased to announce that Richard Brodsky, a former 14-term New York State Assemblyman, will be the keynote speaker at the Industry-Environment Conference being held at the Gideon Resort and Spa in Saratoga on October 18th.
From 1993 to 2002 Brodsky was Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Conservation during which time he authored the legislation responsible for creating the Environmental Protection Fund, the 1996 Bond Act and New York's Neighbor Notification Law .
He has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox Business News, among many other national and statewide TV stations. He has been featured on dozens of radio stations including NPR, WNYC, WCBS and WINS. His op-eds have been featured in the New York Times, New York Daily News, The Capitol and other major publications.
The Industry-Environment Conference is considered to be the longest running and most important conference focused on environmental matters in New York State. Also appearing will be Joseph Martens, the commissioner of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Karen Moreau, executive director of the New York State Petroleum Council. She will be a discussion on "Empire State Divide," the film she produced about the clash between rural New York State land owners and opponents of natural gas development.
