Linda Liszewski, an environmental management specialist with Eastman Kodak Company, has received The Business Council's "Building a Better New York" Award in recognition of her contributions to the work of The Council's Environment Committee.
The award was announced Oct. 17 during ceremonies at The Business Council's annual Industry-Environment Conference in Saratoga Springs.
The Council presents the award each year at this conference to recognize business activists whose contributions to The Council's work significantly advance The Council's efforts to create an economic renaissance for New York and New Yorkers.
Liszewski has served on Kodak's environmental staff for nearly twenty-five years. She has been an active participant in our Environment Committee since the mid-1980's, and she chaired the committee for two years. She has also supported the extensive involvement of other Kodak representatives in many Business Council environmental advocacy efforts.
The Business Council has sponsored the Industry-Environment Conference for more than a quarter of a century. This year, more than 300 people attended the annual two-day conference, which drew top environmental professionals from around the state, including officials from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the New York State Senate and Assembly, as well as other state and governmental agencies.
The conference is intended for executives and environmental managers at any business that must comply with environmental regulations or that helps other firms comply. This conference has grown over the years to become the premier meeting of its kind in New York.
