ALBANY, N.Y.—The Business Council of New York State, Inc., today announced that Campbell Brown, education reform advocate and former anchor for NBC News and CNN, will deliver the keynote address at the 2015 Annual Meeting.

Ms. Brown is an engaging public speaker and highly-regarded expert on education issues. After leaving CNN in 2012, Ms. Brown began focusing on reforming the nation’s education system. Most recently she created The Seventy Four, a “non-profit, non-partisan news site about education.”

“Campbell Brown’s breadth of knowledge, and focus on improving education for our nation’s school children, makes her the ideal keynote speaker for our organization,” said Heather C. Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State. “The Business Council and our members recognize that in order to meet the workforce needs of the 21st century economy, our nation’s and our state’s education systems must be vastly improved. We are excited to hear Ms. Brown share her life experiences and keen insight on what is driving change in American education.”

Regularly attended by hundreds of the state’s top business executives, The Business Council’s Annual Meeting, at the historic Sagamore Resort on the shores of Lake George, is the premier business policy and networking event in New York.

In addition to Ms. Brown’s keynote address, this year’s Annual Meeting will feature: Former Governor David Paterson, Former Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy, Former Assemblyman Michael Benjamin, Former Senator George Winner, Capital Tonight host Liz Benjamin, City & State Publisher Andrew Holt, and policy experts from the US Chamber, the administration of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state Legislature.
