ALBANY, N.Y.—“Extending the property tax cap is a priority for The Business Council, and we are anxious to hear the details,” said Heather C. Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State. “The agreement should be to extend the cap with no new categorical spending exclusions, and to maintain the one year lag between expiration of rent control and the property tax cap. The cap has worked, having saved New York residents and businesses more than $7.6 billion since its enactment, and its taxpayer protections need to be preserved.”
