HSBC's Mike Masse elected to Public Policy Institute of New York State board of trustees

Syracuse, N.Y. — Michael J. Masse, HSBC Bank USA, N.A., senior vice president, was recently elected to the board of trustees of The Public Policy Institute of New York State, Inc. (“PPI”) He previously served as a board member of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. from September 2011 to September 2013

“PPI is pleased to welcome Mr. Masse to its board of trustees. His knowledge, experience and perspective will be a great asset to PPI's analysis and research on policy issues impacting New York's economy and business climate,” said Heather C. Briccetti, Esq., president and CEO of The Public Policy Institute and The Business Council of New York State.

Founded in 1981, PPI, the research arm of The Business Council of New York State, is a valuable resource for policymakers, the media, The Business Council and others. PPI promotes a pro-business, pro-growth agenda in New York by providing economic analysis and research on fiscal, policy and economic development issues. Its purpose is to formulate and promote policies that will help restore New York's economic competitiveness by addressing key state policy issues.

At HSBC, Mr. Masse leads the bank's Washington, D.C.-based government and institutional banking team. He previously led a number of teams within HSBC including commercial middle market banking in Central New York/Albany; public banking throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut; in addition to the retail banking network in Central New York.

Mr. Masse is currently a trustee of the New York State Teachers' Pension System and is a board member of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, D.C.

He holds a Bachelor of Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, a Master's in Business Administration from Rider University, and a master's in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.

Mr. Masse resides in Alexandria, VA and Fayetteville, NY.
