ALBANY, N.Y.— The future of SEMATECH will be the topic of the next New York Technology Roundtable, convened by The Business Council of New York State. Mathew Nelligan SEMATECH manager of government relations will discuss SEMATECH, past, present and future.
Nelligan will address how the innovative public-private partnership founded in 1987 has become a model for driving cutting edge research and development in the semiconductor industry.
The session will be held on Wednesday November 19 from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Albany.
SEMATECH (from Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology) is a not-for-profit consortium of technology companies that performs research and development to advance microchip manufacturing.
Nelligan is the Manager of Government Relations at SEMATECH, responsible for all of the consortiums advocacy efforts at the local, state and federal levels. He comes to SEMATECH, after serving in increasing levels of policy responsibility in the New York State Senate for the last six years.
Nelligan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Siena College and a Master’s Degree in American Government and Politics from the College of St. Rose. He was a primary author and negotiator on many important pieces of legislation while working in the Senate, including the landmark POWER NY Act and the Recharge New York Act.
The New York Technology Roundtable, convened by The Business Council of New York State, Inc., is a luncheon seminar series that serves as a resource for members and the greater business community in New York State. Sessions feature topics such as state and federal policies, events, other industry developments, and conclude with an open discussion forum.
