ALBANY, N.Y. — Today, Robert Desiato, director of AT&T Network Disaster Recovery discussed ways to improve advanced communications responses to man-made and natural disasters at the next New York Technology Roundtable session, Disaster Preparedness: Communications Technology in Times of Crisis, held at the Hilton Albany in Albany, N.Y.
Desiato discussed a range of pitfalls that legislators can avoid when advancing legislation for disaster preparedness and recovery.
“Tools to improve advanced communications, including information databases and educational websites that provide the latest information, are essential to proper emergency management,” said Marcus Ferguson, director of government affairs at The Business Council of New York State, Inc. “The longer a community is impacted by a disaster, the longer it takes the business community to get back up and running.”
