ALBANY— The Business Council of New York State, Inc. is endorsing incumbent Republican James Alesi for the New York State Senate in the 55th Senate district.

“Jim Alesi has long been a champion for business in the New York State Senate. When he was chairman of the Economic Development Committee he fought for policies to help business grow and create jobs in New York,” said Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of The Business Council. “Jim knows the importance of lowering taxes and making our state more competitive to create jobs, especially in upstate New York.”

Sen. Alesi supports the Business Council's Enough Already NY campaign's Five to Survive economic reform agenda which includes: a property tax cap; a state spending cap; reducing the tax burden; reforming public employee pensions and limiting government borrowing.

Sen. Alesi scored 77 percent on The Business Council Voters' Guide, available here.

The endorsement comes through the Business Council's Political Action Committee.
