ALBANY— The Business Council of New York State, Inc. is pleased to announce that Greg Casey, president and CEO of the Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC), will address its members during its Annual Meeting at the Sagamore Resort September 21.

Casey became the head of BIPAC in 1999 after a distinguished career in public service. His remarkable record includes stints as Legislative Director and Chief of Staff to a member in the U.S. House of Representatives, Chief of Staff to a member of the U. S. Senate, Transition Director for the newly elected Governor of Idaho, Interior Transition Team for the newly elected President of the United States, Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Senate Majority Leader and as an elected officer of Congress, serving as the 34th Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the United States Senate where he served as Chairman of both the United States Capitol Police Board and the Capitol Guide Service and on the Board of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

“With his keen knowledge and understanding of public policy, Mr. Casey has been instrumental in raising awareness of the issues that affect business interests around the country,” said Heather Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council. “Through BIPAC, he has helped bring a strong voice to tens of thousands of voters on issues that affect their lives. In doing so, he has developed the largest business grassroots effort in the country, helping hundreds of corporations and organizations reach their public policy goals”

BIPAC was founded in 1963 as the first business PAC with the goal of electing pro-prosperity candidates to higher office. An independent, bipartisan organization, BIPAC is supported by several hundred of the nation's leading businesses and trade associations, including The Business Council.
