ALBANY, N.Y.—“We are very concerned about the city's proposed for-hire-vehicle app rules and the precedent they could set, and urge the de Blasio administration to avoid disrupting the progress new economy companies are making in improving our daily lives,” said Heather C. Briccetti Esq., president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State. “Allowing a city agency to have unchecked veto power over app development would stifle creativity and hinder job growth. According to the mayor himself the tech sector provides 300,000 jobs and more than $30 billion in annual wages. We hope he listens to his own words and allows these companies the freedom they need to continue to grow.”
