ALBANY— "New York's economy is on fire, and this budget does nothing but pour gasoline on it," said Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of the Business Council. "New York is already ablaze in an economic inferno of high taxes, high costs and weak growth in jobs and population. This budget only intensifies the suffering for more businesses and families."

“As we look more deeply at the state budget agreement it looks worse and worse. Eight billion dollars in new taxes and $9 billion in new spending is a recipe for continued recession, job and population loss,” added Adams.
