ALBANY— The Business Council of New York State, Inc. is endorsing a slate of candidates in races for the New York State Assembly.
“These candidates have demonstrated a commitment to a pro-jobs agenda that will lower taxes and reduce the cost of doing business in New York,” said Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State. “To put our state on the path to recovery we most lower the tax burden on New York's employers. These candidates understand that.”
All of these candidates support the Business Council's Enough Already NY campaign's Five to Survive economic reform agenda which includes: a property tax cap; a state spending cap; reducing the tax burden; reforming public employee pensions and limiting government borrowing.
The endorsed candidates are:
Dean Murray (R-I-C-STR, 3rd AD) Incumbent
Nancy Calhoun (R-I-C, 96th AD) Incumbent
Marcus Molinaro (R-I-C, 103rd AD) Incumbent
Steve McLaughlin (R-C, 108th AD)
David Nachbar (D, 130th AD)
Phil Palmesano (R-I-C, 136th AD)
Brian Biggie (R-TXP, 144th AD)
Incumbent candidate endorsements are made based on a positive record on The Business Council's Voters' Guide, available here, and on supporting the Five to Survive agenda.
Non-incumbent endorsements are made based on the candidate signing on to the Five to Survive reform agenda, showing support for a pro-jobs agenda on a candidate questionnaire and successfully completing a candidate interview.
All of these candidates sought the endorsement.
The endorsements are made through The Business Council Political Action Committee.
