ALBANY— The Business Council of New York State, Inc is endorsing State Senator Stephen Saland (R-I-C, 41st SD) for re-election.
“Steve Saland is a champion for a pro-jobs and pro-growth agenda in the New York State Senate,” said Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. “Sen. Saland knows that the cost-of-doing business in this state is far too high and that kills jobs.”
“One of the most devastating taxes in this region is the MTA payroll tax. This is tax on jobs that really hurts employers in the Hudson Valley. Steve Saland understood this when he voted against the tax and as he continues to fight to reduce or repeal it,” said Adams.
“Steve Saland is a champion of fiscal reform in Albany and economic recovery for New York.”
Sen. Saland supports the Business Council's Enough Already NY campaign's Five to Survive economic reform agenda, which includes: a property tax cap; a state spending cap; reducing the tax burden; reforming public employee pensions and limiting government borrowing.
Sen. Saland is one of the top 10 pro-jobs, pro-growth senators according to the Business Council's Voters' Guide where he scored 82 percent. The voters' guide is available here.

The endorsement comes through the Business Council's Political Action Committee. Adams made the endorsement at a media conference in Poughkeepsie.
