ALBANY— The Business Council is endorsing former Erie County Sheriff Pat Gallivan (R-I-C) for State Senate in the 59th Senate District.

“Pat Gallivan is a candidate committed to the change we need in Albany to lower taxes and reduce the cost of doing business in New York,” said Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State. “As a small business owner himself, he understands the barriers to job creation that Albany has placed on our economy.”

“The Democratic Majority in the State Senate has spent the past two years voting to raise taxes by billions of dollars, still leaving the state with billions in red ink going forward,” said Adams. “We cannot keep raising taxes to maintain unsustainable levels of state spending and hope to see our state's economy recover.”

Pat Gallivan supports the Business Council's Enough Already NY campaign's Five to Survive economic reform agenda which includes: a property tax cap; a state spending cap; reducing the tax burden; reforming public employee pensions and limiting government borrowing.

The endorsement comes through the Business Council's Political Action Committee.
