Statement on Governor Hochul’s Budget Proposal
“We commend the Governor on her 2024-2025 Budget proposal, a presentation that should be applauded on many levels. During her time in office, the governor has been able to balance budgets without raising personal and business taxes, a critical move for the continued growth of our economy. Most recently, the governor has acknowledged many key factors in stemming the tide of out-migration and keeping New York affordable while also addressing quality-of-life concerns such as retail theft, crime, healthcare, education, and housing. Businesses also appreciate the efforts to manage the influx of migrants, including identifying a pathway for stable employment and the investments made in nanotech that we believe will provide dividends for all New Yorkers.
As the budget process proceeds, we hope that both the Governor and the legislature continue to understand the issues impacting businesses throughout the state, such as high workers' compensation costs and other mandates by the state that have increased costs.”
