The Business of New York State, Inc. supports S.8175 (Marcellino) / A.9903 (Cusick) which would clarify the State Education Department (SED) utilization of the instructional time standard for reimbursing non-public schools for expenses associated with complying with SED mandated services.
This language clarification will help ensure non-public schools have the resources needed to continue to comply with SED testing, evaluation and data requirements, and provide all schools with the same standard for funding reimbursements.
The Business Council believes that state financial support for schools should assure schools provide essential testing, evaluation and data reporting to ensure schools have the measurements they need to continue to support student learning and development in order to prepare them for college and career. As such, the Business Council supports S.8175 (Marcellino) / A.9903 (Cusick) which would ensure non-public schools have the same standard for funding these crucial administrative services.
