ALBANY, N.Y.—“The tax cut proposals put forward by the state Senate majority are significant and address some of the issues impacting New York’s competiveness in relation to the rest of the country,” said Heather C. Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. “We are particularly pleased to see the targeted small business tax relief and the expedited expiration of the ill-conceived 18-a energy assessment. We remain concerned, however, that these pro-growth proposals are dwarfed by the costs of a $15 an hour minimum wage increase and Paid Family Leave mandate proposed in the Executive Budget. We applaud the senate Majority for their efforts in reducing the tax burden for all New Yorkers and look forward to working with them and our other partners in government on growing the state’s economy.”
