ALBANY, N.Y.—“Governor Cuomo is right to highlight the ongoing need to address property tax rates and reduce the size of government,” said Heather C. Briccetti, Esq., president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. “While the property tax cap has been a great success - saving residential and business taxpayers billions in avoided costs – work remains. Directing local governments to submit consolidation plans and empowering voters is one step toward the promise of mandate relief. However, much more still needs to be done, including: reducing workers’ comp costs, public employee pension relief, and reforming the scaffold law.”
